In 2011, immediately after the Great East Japan Earthquake, Homma entered the forest of Fukushima, which was a disaster area, and photogrphed the forest and the mushrooms that grew there. “mushrooms from the forest” is the compilation of this seriese of works and “Symphony – mushrooms from the forest (hardcover)” is the sequel to the former. Homma photographed not only in Fukushima, but also in other forests in Chernobyl, Scandinavia affected by the accident and Stoney Point where musician John Cage lived. In order to express Homma’s approach as a book design, the design with a correction line drawn on the title letters is continued from the past publication, and the spacious layout is adopted in a large format so that readers can look into each and every photograph.
